- We discussed bringing back the rides during the week. We are going to have a meeting at McStop Friday June 17th at 6pm to discuss some shorter rides to take during the week. We will plan them so that people will be riding home when the sun is still out.

- New Business:
- Bruce stated that the Twin Cities Chapters will be holding an "all Chapter's" signing Day on January 29 in Lakeville. Chapter 423 members unanimously decided to hold elections at this meeting and not attend the Lakeville siging; distance and membership attendance being a factor. Members voted to have Chapter 423 positions remain the same.
- Charter membership names will be mailed in for review; when this is returned, Chapter 423 will hold another meeting at that time for signing of the Charter.
- February 4, 5 & 6 is the International Motorcycle Show at the Minneapolis Convention Center. All Chapters are encouraged to attend. Chapter 423 members will try to attend Saturday, the 5th. Watch our Forums for further information.
- A "Star" state picnic is in the planning stages. The date is June 18 and is open to all Chapters and all states; more information to follow.
- Registration for Star Days in Middleton, Wisconsin will open on March 1, 2011. More information will be available at that time.
- Chapter 444 is hosting a ride to Galena, Illinois on August 26 & 27. Information is available on the 444 website; a link is provided on our Forums.

- New Business:
- Bee Line Open House is Saturday, June 5th 11-3 PM. Doors open at 9 AM. Bruce and John will set up. Try to arrive be 10 AM. Bruce is trying to contact JC to get additional raffle tickets.
- June 26th-27th is the ride to St. Peter. Everyone should meet at the DQ in Cokato at 1:00 PM on Saturday. We decided to make this an over-nighter in St. Peter and not continue on into Iowa. The bike raffle is at 7PM at the American Legion.
- We discussed the need to attract new members and how we can do this. Ideas were to enter a couple local parades. Darlene will contact the City of St. Joseph regarding their July 4th parade. Bruce will contact Bee Line regarding possible sponsorship and/or parade trailer/tow vehicle options. Bonnie will draft an article for the St. Cloud Times. Tim will forward pitures to Bonnie. Anyone else with 423 group pics should send them to Bonnie as well. Lastly, we talked about attending other bike events. The thought being, go to where the bikers are.

- Bruce called the meeting to order at approximately 7:15 PM.
- We discussed upcoming Calendar events.
- May 15th is the Feed the Children event at Hossana Lutheran Church in Lakeville. Bruce will post additional info and a ride route.
- Tim suggested that we reschedule the West Metro Ride and instead attend the 292/444 benefit ride scheduled for May 22nd. Tim will post a route to White Bear Lake.
- June 5th will be the next Bee Line Open House. It was suggested that we try to co-ordinate some of our rides with Bee Line rides. Keeping in mind that we need to be sure our ride rules don't conflict with theirs.
- It was also suggested that as an incentive to increase attendance we hand out a playing card to each member at each ride/event. The person with the best poker hand at the end of the riding season, will win a prize. Prize(s) and additional details will need to be worked out.

- Suggestion was made to have Tim contact the 292 and offer to coordinate/combine their ride with his.
- John suggested placing a coffee can collector at Moon's open house to help with this benefit.
- Tripod and brochure holder:
- Beth informed us of a brochure holder that we could place our organization's flyer in that is shaped like a motorcycle. Thanks Beth for offering to do this!
- John said he'd dumpster dive again to get another tripod to place at Moon Motors with our organization's info. Thanks Cranky!
- 2010 rides:
- It was suggested that we have just one separate Forum on our website for the year's rides. In this Forum the ride captains (assigned at the special February meeting) would place their ride information, including: route, map, and times.
- It was made by Imperial Decree that the road captains are to have this done by May 1st. It is important that members and prospective members be able to find one easily accessible place to preview our rides and make their plans.
- Cranky's Bike Spring tune-up day:
- John offered to have us over at his neat new garage (Male Crisis Center) to get our bikes ready for the season. Oil/filter changes, tire checks, etc. Date and times to be announced by John.
- Website clean-up:
- Bruce to get a hold of Tom and delete all old postings (6 months?).

- The chapter flyer will need to be updated for the Moon Open House. Ted and Anje volunteered to submit new layouts for our approval.
- Chapter Secrertary is responsible for bringing the Calendar to each meeting.

- "Official" rides will be on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. Evening rides will also be scheduled. We want to try and alternate between long and short rides.

- Bruce called the meeting to order at 7:05 and the mission statement was read aloud.
- Bruce read re-charter information/instructions. A motion was made to leave our charter minimum participation requirement at 40%. The motion was seconded and passed without discussion. The charter was then read aloud and signed by all present.
- The charter will be available to sign at next month's meeting as well.
- 2010 Star Chapter Ride Waivers were signed. Those not in attendance may also sign a waiver at the February meeting.
- We discussed the International Motorcycle Show which will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center February 5-7. Bruce, Ted and Tim were planning to attend. Anyone else wishing to attend should contact Bruce. Travel arrangements can be finalized at the Feb. meeting.
- Start thinking of ride ideas for the 2010 season. Bruce had some info on a MN/Iowa two day ride. Some other ideas were riding up to Duluth for the airshow and a West Metro suburban ride. Bring more ideas to the Feb. meeting.
- We also discussed our hopes of becoming more involved with Moon Motorsports in Monticello. Tim will arrange a time when Bruce, Ted and he can meet with a representative of Moon to begin planning for their April open house.

- IMS show has downsized the booth (fewerpasses).
- "Feed the Children" run will be done in MN. We will feed 400 families. Local food shelf will handle who it is distributed to, but our group will hand out the food. There is a page on the state web site to announce the project that can be printed off to give to others to promote the project. 3rd Saturday in May is when the event will take place.
- Ted asked, "what do we get for our $48?". Jim C responded, "comraderie, rides with out drinking, helping others, belonging to a World-wide Cause'.

Meeting Notes:
- Future meetings will be held on the 1st Thursday each month at the Stonehouse @ 7:00 p.m. A vote was taken and passed for meeting protocol to be more "formalized" to keep the meeting on track per an agenda. An agenda for future meetings will be posted on our Calendar prior to the meeting date. Officers will be strongly encouraged to be at meetings, but meetings are optional for general members.
- 2010 Rides will be on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month starting around 11:00 a.m. Members will be encouraged to be at the Saturday rides about an hour earlier to meet potential new members. 2010 rides on the eights of the months will be discontinued. 423 official events will be posted on our Calendar. Other events may be posted on the Forums by any registered member of the Forums. Bruce and Tom will eliminate older posts from the Forums.
- Members were asked to think about nominations for president for the next meeting on November 5th. Nominees will then pick a v.p. running mate and develop a statement of their (vision) for the Chapter and post this in the Discussions section of the website before the December meeting, at which time, a vote will be taken.
- Bruce will check with Beeline to see if we can put up a display in their store with info' about Chapter 423 and contact information. John will supply a tripod and display board to post current events on.
- Members are asked to submit a picture of themselves with their bike to Ellen so she can post this on the website. We would also like to have a group picture taken to post as well.
- February 5-7 is the IMS convention at the Mpls. Convention Center. More details to follows.
- The "fall color ride" will go on as planned for October 17th, meeting time at Beeline for 11:00. If the weather is 60 degrees or above we will ride our bikes...if weather does not cooperate we will meet and drive the route in a couple vans and enjoy the fall beauty.
- The group discussed that the Chapter should try have more 50/50 drawings at meetings to try increase our bank account. Planning charity rides was also brought up and will be discussed at future meetings.

- The Following Rides were discussed and decided on:
- 09/12/09, Ride to Chisago City H.S. for Vietnam Veteran’s Traveling Wall Memorial. Meet at the Super American gas station on US 10 just south of Highway 23 on east side of St. Cloud at 10:00 on Sat. 9/12.
- 09/18/09, The official ride for September will be to the Pioneer Days in Albany, MN . Meet at Bee Line at 10:30 a.m. or at the Holiday Gas Station in Albany at 11:oo to ride to the Pioneer Grounds north of Albany. There also is the option to just meet up with the group at the event.
- 09/26/09, Ride to Fridley for the Bike Show Finale at Chris and Rob’s Chicago Taste Authority. Details will be posted on the 423 website as they are available.
- 10/10/09, Fall Color Ride: Dave K. volunteered to plan and lead a ride on Saturday, 10/10 and will extend an invite to other chapters. Check the 423 website for updates as they become available.
- Nominations and Elections:
- The November meeting will be on Sunday, 11/8/09. Time and Place yet to be decided. The November meeting is a very important meeting to attend as this is when nominations will be taken for Chapter 423 / 2010 President and Vice President.
- The President and VP nominees will run as and be elected a “team”. Other officer positions can be either voluntary or elected. Everyone should think about nominations, elections, and other officer positions and in what role they can best serve Chapter 423. It was suggested that Pres/VP nominees prior to the December election, talk about what their 2010 goals will be for the chapter and how they plan to accomplish those goals.
- Elections will be held at the December meeting. Time and Place TBD.

- Planning for the June 13th Eagle Run fund raiser to the Eagle Center in Wabasha. Those going are planning to stay overnight in the Wabasha/Red Wing Area.

- Introductions and greeting to Mike D. of St. Cloud.
- A Bike Safety Check-up at Bee Line on Sat. April 18th with a ride to follow if weather permitting. Check our Calendar and Forums for exact time.
- The Eagle Run fund raiser to the Eagle Center in Wabasha is on June 13th. JC is looking for a 423 member to lead this ride from St. Cloud. Bee Line Yamaha is a sponsoring dealership for the Eagle Run. Jimbo and JC will speak with TC riders about putting up 423 riders overnight who don’t want to ride back to St. Cloud that same day.
- The May 10th MSF experienced rider coarse at St. Cloud Technical College is almost full. The next ERC is on June 20th and still has 8 openings. Cost is about $55. Bruce has the video "Ride Like a Pro" and will plan a time for the chapter to view the video.
- JC and Jimbo clarified Star Touring & Riding's alcohol policy. It is ok to consume alcohol at chapter events that DO NOT include getting on a motorcycle and riding after consuming alcohol.
- Darlene gave the treasurer’s report. Chapter T-shirts and Chapter pins were discussed and decisions about purchasing shirts/pins are on hold until the next meeting.

- Introductions and greeting to two new people at the meeting, Dave from Willmar and Dwayne "Stitch" from Rice.
- Safety Issues were discussed including enrolling in an MSF experienced rider coarse at St. Cloud Technical College. Cost is about $55. Bruce also has the video "Ride Like a Pro" and will plan a time for the chapter to view the video.
- Chapter rides will be on the 8ths of the month. The 1st ride will be Wed. April 8th. 2nd ride will be Saturday, April 19th. 3rd ride will be Tues., April 28th. Weather permitting. Bruce will post ride information on website Forums and Calendar. Think about planning and leading a ride.

- Jimbo encouraged everyone to register to join the 444, 292 and 404 chapter Forums which would allow 423 members to participate multiple chapter discussions and events.
- Greg is still working on getting t-shirts printed. Bruce is looking into cost of chapter pins and chapter decals.

Meeting Notes:
- Bruce has 4inch by 4inch Chapter 423 Logo decals for $2.00. He is still trying to locate the original logo disk to make larger decals, pins, etc.
- Eagle Run fund raiser for the Eagle Center in Wabasha is on June 13th. We discussed making it an over night ride for 423 riders.
- Feed the Children Charity Ride is scheduled for August 22 up to the Cook, MN area. We reviewed the brochure which is in its finalization stage. Contact Greg W. with any suggestions.
- Star Days registration is now open. Whether you are planning to camp or stay in a motel, you need to make housing reservations before everything is full. Bruce and Ellen have space in their toy hauler for one or two more bikes.
- The International Motorcycle Show is next week end . Star members will not have to pay an entry fee, but you need to contact Bruce before Saturday and let him know when you are going in order to make arrangements for getting in. Chapter 423 will distribute their business cards at the Star booth.
- We decided to stay with riding on the 8ths of the month again in 2009. One of those 8ths will consist of a chapter meeting. Rides on the 8ths can be changed to another date if there is a weather cancellation or another riding event close to the 8th of the Month, but not on the 8th. We also talked about having a consistent place to meet for a ride.
- Next meeting will be Saturday, March 7th at noon. We are planning to have the meeting at Bee Line Yamaha.

Meeting Notes:
- Star posters have been ordered from Duane and Jimbo at the 444. No date as of yet when they will be in.
- Bruce ordered 20 vinyl stickers of the 423 colored logo to be put on your vehicle or what ever you want.
- A payment was made to Bruce for the cost of the stickers and the web site.
- Darlene reported the bank account had $290.47 in it before the payment to Bruce was made.
- Greg reported that he has gotten the sewing file from Betty's embroidery for the patches.
- Star posters will be put up at the Bee Line, Paynesville, and Wilmar dealerships. Flyer size copies can be printed off of your home computer. If you did not receive a copy of the file contact Greg.
- The charter was read, signed, and will be sent in by Bruce by the Feb 28th dead line.
- Beth accepted the Ladies of Star position and Jeff accepted the Sergeant at Arms position.
- 2009 ride waivers were filled, signed, and witnessed. Greg will pass them on to Jeff at a later date as part of the Sergeant at Arms dutys, the banner will also be delivered to Jeff.
- It was agreed that if a member drops out of the Chapter patches must be returned and no money will be refunded if membership was over year.
- The international motorcycle show attendance was discussed. Who ever is planning on going needs to let Bruce know which day and about when so Jim C. can be notified and arrangements can be made to get passes in place.
- Next meeting will be at Bonnie and Kens farm on Feb 7th at 1pm. I believe it will be pot luck. Bonnie will post info.
- Greg is still working on prices and where the best place to have t-shirts made.
- The idea of an all Chapter ride once a month was discussed, Jim from the 444 said at their last meeting that he will contact the other chapters.
- Discussion about what days to ride on was brought up and no decision was made yet. The idea of doing rides on the weekend was brought up if a set date falls close to the weekend. Further discussion at the next meeting.
- Greg brought up the veterans day parade at the VA medical center. He will be working with last years director (might still be this years director) on setting up an eagle for the parade with Bob from the 444 and the national eagle center in Wabasha. The parade will be in early Nov and no date is yet set.
- The eagle ride on the 13th of June was brought up and the route was explained. Further discussion is needed to decide what to do as far as a route to meet the other chapters and who is going.
- Greg presented a flyer for the eagle ride and all members liked it. Anyone wanting a copy can contact Greg for the file so it can be printed out at home.
- The idea of having a ride after Bee Lines super jam this year was discussed. Further discussion needed.
- Bonnie brought up the idea of doing an after noon ride so Ken can join us (has milk cows). All members agreed that it is a good idea.
- Greg brought up the idea of doing an over night charity ride for feed the children. A date of Aug 22nd was decided on. Greg will check into the possibility of going to fortune bay casino on vermilion lake by Ely MN. Greg had talked to the other chapters at a 444 meeting and they all were interested in doing an over night ride. More discussions and info to come.

Meeting Notes:
- Bee Line Yamaha will be hosting a Hottest Winter Nights Open House on Thursday, December 4th from 5-9pm. Any one able to help out, arrive around 5 pm. There will be a 50/50 drawing to help raise money for the chapter. This may serve as our monthly meeting due to the Christmas Holiday.
- Greg W. will be talking to Dory at "Life's a Stitch" about making chapter tee-shirts with the chapter logo on the front and possibly the Bee Line logo on the back. Shirts may be available in black, white , and/or gray. Cost will depend on number of shirts ordered.
- Jimbo and Jim talked about how Twin Cities Chapters have assisted supporting dealers with a "Reps Night". This usually starts up in March or April and occurs 1 or 2x a month. Also discussed was placing STAR T & R and Chapter information in non-Star/ non-Yamaha dealerships.
- Nominations were accepted for chapter president and vice president. Bruce was nominated for chapter president. Jeff F. and Greg W. were both nominated for vice president. Patsy Z/secretary will send an email to chapter members to email their vote back her before December 4th.
- The Chapter 423 Charter will be resigned at the January meeting.
- Continue thinking of things to do over the non-riding season to stay connected. Bonnie volunteered her home for a January activity. Ellen and Bruce volunteered their home for a February activity.
- The International Motorcycle Show will on February 13, 14 & 15, 2009. Star members attendind will not have to pay an entry fee. Details will be worked out closer to show time. Star T & R will again have a booth at the show with one brochure with information about all the MN Chapters. Chapter 423 can distribute 423 business cards.
- Jim Clark presented Bruce with the IWMAOFS award at the end of the meeting for everything Bruce has done this past year to get Chapter 423 up and running.

- Bruce reviewed the Star T & R election information. Members interested in serving as President, Vice-President, LOS Representative, secretary, treasurer, etc., for the 2009 Calendar year should make their interest known at November's meeting. Elections are held in December.
- Next Chapter meeting will be on Wednesday, November 19th at 6:00 p.m. at Sammy's Pizza on Division Street in Waite Park. Nominations for Chapter Officer's will be accepted at this meeting.
- RIDES: Riding season is just about over, but if it looks like there might be a Saturday or Sunday that is not too cold to ride, and you want to ride -- Post It On the Website Forums.
- Think of ways to get together over the non-riding season to stay connected as a chapter. Bowling, out to eat, potluck, etc. This will be discussed further at November meeting and probably start after the holiday season is over.
- Also discussed were ideas for an over night ride up north next spring or early summer and member's plans for attending Star Days in Billings, Montana in July.

Meeting Notes:
- 40% participation rule in Star Chapter 423 rides/activities to be accepted into chapter is on hold for this year due to small core group of members at this time.
- Members discussed printing up "business cards" to give to anyone who asks for information about our chapter. Business cards can easily be carried in a wallet, purse, or check book.
- RIDES: There was discussion about getting ride events posted on our Calendar early enough for people to plan ahead and attend.
- The shorter days makes it harder to do weeknight rides and supper and get home before it gets dark outside. It was suggested that we do an every week Wednesday Night get together for supper at 6 pm.
- Starting 9/3 we will do a "Ride to Dinner" which means you can ride your bike or drive your car. On 9/3, we will meet at Culver"s in Waite Park at 6pm. On 9/10 we will pick a restaurant in Cold Spring. On 9/17, Sartell or Sauk Rapids. On 9/24, ????.
- It was also suggested if someone wanted to do a longer ride on a Saturday or Sunday and go out for breakfast, brunch or lunch, post it on the website.
- Instead of riding on Thursday 8/28, we will do a ride on Saturday, 8/30 up to the Brainerd Lakes Area. The "Rally Up North" is that same weekend.
- Instead of riding on Monday 9/8, it was suggested we participate in the Sauk Centre Vets Fun Run on Saturday, 9/6/08. Registration is from 11-12:45 , ride starts at 1pm at the Sauk Centre at the American Legion. This would be an opportunity to wear our chapter vests and increase our visibility while supporting our veteran"s needs.
- We also discussed doing a ride around Lake Mil Lacs on Saturday, September 28th and inviting Twin Cities Chapters. We could have lunch at the casino.
